FX Recharge introduces EV charging solutions for hotels and condominiums

FX Recharge is proposing an expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure for hotels, roadside stops, and residential and commercial developments. The model combines charger installation with operational management, with projects tailored to how long vehicles remain parked, expected demand and the conditions at each property.

Market figures illustrate the opportunity. According to the Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE), Brazil registered 42,448 battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids in September 2026. These plug-in models accounted for 79.9% of electrified light vehicle sales that month. The figures help explain the importance of expanding charging options at the places these drivers visit. [1]

For property operators, choosing the right infrastructure starts with understanding how people use the site. A car parked overnight allows for a different approach from one whose driver needs to resume a journey. FX’s proposal takes these differences into account when selecting equipment and organizing the service.

In the hospitality sector, the FX Recharge Destination program provides for charging during a guest’s stay. Depending on the available space and technical assessment, a project can include one, two, three or four parking spaces equipped with alternating current (AC) chargers rated at up to 7.4 kW. The proposed terms include a special charging rate and no idle fees during an agreed overnight period.

Guests can use their rest time to recharge their vehicles. For hotels, the service can offer a point of distinction when travelers choose where to stay. The proposal also allows for a separate electricity connection and meter registered in FX’s name, subject to technical feasibility and approval by the distribution utility. This would separate charging costs from the property’s electricity consumption.

At roadside stops, the proposal treats charging as part of the services offered to travelers. Service stations, roadside restaurants and convenience centers can combine charging with meals and rest breaks. Direct current (DC) equipment can be included in projects that require faster charging, depending on the site’s electrical capacity and vehicle compatibility.

Matching charging infrastructure to the length of a visit is an established planning consideration. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center identifies hotels and other locations where vehicles remain parked for longer periods as suitable settings for AC charging. Along highway corridors, infrastructure needs to support the requirements of road travel. [2]

In residential condominiums, charging fits into the routines of people who leave their vehicles in a garage for several hours. Planning needs to establish which spaces will be served, who can access the chargers, and how consumption will be measured and billed. It must also consider the electrical installation’s capacity and room for expansion as more residents adopt plug-in vehicles.

At commercial developments and office buildings, users may include employees, visitors and corporate fleets. Vehicles parked during working hours allow operators to consider charging solutions suited to that period. Projects serving vehicles with a higher turnover require different equipment capacity and usage rules adapted to parking activity.

Under the model presented by FX Recharge, the scope can include project design, installation, operation, customer support and maintenance. For approved partnerships, investment responsibilities and the property’s share of operating earnings are defined by contract according to the characteristics of each location.

Digital management is also part of the proposal. The FX Recharge app allows users to find stations on the network, view charger information, start and monitor sessions, and access their charging history. These features are listed in the app’s official App Store description. [3]

Before installation, each location must undergo a technical and commercial assessment. The analysis should consider access, electricity availability, user profiles, operating costs and expected demand. A charger’s rated power alone does not determine how long it takes to charge a battery: the vehicle and the conditions during the session also affect performance.

Through this approach, FX Recharge aims to expand the places where drivers can charge while doing other things. Hotels, condominium managers and roadside stop operators interested in the model can request an assessment of their property and the conditions for installation.
